Kieler Woche in Kiel Germany produces great results for Geoff Power and James McCann from WHSC

What a weekend it has been for Waterford Harbour Sailing Club In Kinsale in the same weekend that our modest Dunmore East Club took home the Sovereigns cup, Waterford Harbour Sailing Club dinghy sailors were showing their skills in the international dinghy circuit. Geoff Power and James McCann took a creditable seventh overall in a massive 135–boat 420 fleet at Kieler Woche in Germany. There is a lot of potential in these young lads as this is only their first year together and in the 420’s. Earlier this season, Power and McCann already secured top spot at the ISA Youth Pathways in Ballyholme in April. Anybody around the slip early last week could see them practicing very hard and collecting useful coaching tips from Douglas Elmes on the water….
A fantastic result in such a large fleet

The crews return to Cork this weekend for the Irish 420 Championships as part of Royal Cork’s Dinghy Fest.
