The day started with arrivals of cakes; beautiful garden and farm produce. Boxes of books and brick-a-brack. A real worry arose, how would we ever move all these goodies… And then the crowds came in and did not stop for hours. A lovely atmosphere on the terrace and in the bar. Entertainment was offered in the form of the Dale Morris Trophy and the “parent” and child race. Then the blessing of the boats with lifeboat and helicopter display.
Our thanks especially to Julie Green for manning and providing the fruit stall with all produce from Killowen Orchard, john Hughes with produce from Kilkenny Flowerbulbs. Grantstown nurseries and The Little Apple company. The record beetroot from Wattie and Gail was sold for a wapping € 25.
