Wet the boat session for Oppies
We’re delighted to welcome our youngest sailors back on the water this weekend. Two groups of oppies will be going out on Sunday morning ahead of coaching starting in June.
This is a fun session, aimed at re-familiarising sailors with their boats and the water, and the weather looks set to be perfect. There’s still some space in the 10am session. You can sign your sailor up by completing this form and contacting Nicola via the Oppie WhatsApp group (text 087 637 1096 if you need to be added to the group.)
Please ensure your children come dressed and ready to sail. The bathrooms will be open but are not to be used for changing in.
A number of people have made enquiries about buying oppies, so please get in touch with the group if you have one that your family is no longer using.
Boat payment due
If you haven’t already done so, please register and pay for any boats or kayaks stored at the club. You can do this through the Member’s Portal, where you can login and generate an invoice. Prices are available here. As a benefit to multi-boat owning families, for the 2021 season, you can now avail of an additional €50 club voucher credit for any 3rd and subsequent sailing dinghy parking space. This applies to dinghies parked in the shed or on the tarmac beside the club.
Volunteers Wanted
The last clean up of the club is scheduled for Sat May 29th at 10am. Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered. If you’re free to help out, please contact Maria on 087 689 1598.
Thank you
Many thanks to Dinghy Captain Cormac Cronin for a really informative and engaging series of Zoom talks aimed at getting dinghy sailors out racing this summer. It was great to see the talks, which finished this week, so well attended. We’ll get these online soon for anyone who couldn’t make it.
