WHSC Rib Trip to the Saltee Islands, the “Galapagos of the South”

Around 40 members of WHSC travelled on nine ribs from Dunmore East on Friday to the Saltee Islands in South Wexford, which they’re renaming the Galapagos of the South due to the abundance of nature.

The islands are famous for hosting over 40 types of seabirds, and the group encountered seals, cormorants and puffins during their hugely successful day out. The group had a picnic on Great Saltee, and even the weather co-operated.

If you don’t have access to a rib, you can also take a ferry to the islands from Kilmore Quay for €30 per adult, €15 per child. But we reckon ribs are the way to go! Contact Kenny to join the WhatsApp for more details of upcoming rib trips on 087 2581608.
